ATF Achieves 501(c)(3) Status and Candid Gold Seal of Transparency


Aquatic Therapy Foundation, Inc. (ATF) has received formal recognition as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

In addition, ATF has earned Candid’s Gold Seal of Transparency, reflecting the organization’s commitment to accountability, governance integrity, and public disclosure of programmatic and financial information.

ATF was established to strengthen aquatic rehabilitation workforce education, safety, and community capacity-building through structured, evidence-informed educational initiatives. The Foundation operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes and does not provide clinical treatment or bill insurance.

“Transparency and responsible governance are foundational to ATF’s mission,” said Andrea Salzman, MS, PT, Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “We are committed to building workforce and education systems that are scalable, accountable, and designed for long-term public benefit.”

The Gold Seal designation indicates that ATF has publicly shared key information regarding its mission, leadership, programs, and financial planning to support informed decision-making by donors and partners.

ATF’s 2026-2027 planned initiatives include:

  • A Geriatric Aquatic Rehabilitation Workforce Education Model
  • A Pediatric FAST Skills Neurodevelopmental Workforce Initiative
  • A Regional Aquatic Rehabilitation Training Hub serving Anderson, Knox, and Blount Counties, Tennessee
